Billionaire venture capitalist Peter Thiel to step down from board of Facebook Meta
German-American tech billionaire Peter Thiel will step down from the board of investors of Facebook Meta, the company announced last week. His tenure was full of controversies ranging from his belief in far-right politics and to his continuous support to Donald Trump’s regime.
Thiel’s departure will also mark the end of one of the most productive and equally lambasted partnerships between a Chief Executive Officer and an investor in all of business.
Satyadeep Mishra joins OYO as CHRO for tech & corporate teams
Global hospitality technology platform, OYO, recently appointed Satyadeep Mishra as the chief human resources officer.
Mishra joins OYO from Jio and brings with him over 20 years of experience in co-creation and execution of people strategy. He previously worked as the HR leader for Jio Platforms Limited and over the last six years has been associated with the transformational growth journey of Jio’s core telecom and digital platform initiatives in retail tech, health tech, media tech, fintech and other domains.
Russell Reynolds Associates (RRA) appoints Renée Bell as Chief People Officer
Leadership advisory firm Russell Reynolds Associates (RRA) recently appointed Renée Bell as Chief People Officer.
In the new role, she would be leading the global People team to further align the firm’s people strategy to its business strategy and will help cultivate talent to further strengthen and deepen the organization’s inclusive culture. She is based in Chicago and will serve on the firm’s Senior Leadership Team.
TrueCommerce appoints Dana Schultz-Ramos as its new Global Chief People Officer
TrueCommerce, a global provider of trading partner connectivity, integration and unified commerce solutions, earlier this week announced that Dana Schultz-Ramos has joined its executive team as Chief People Officer to spearhead the company’s global workforce growth and development.
Dana joins TrueCommerce with extensive experience across a wide range of Human Resources disciplines, including talent acquisition, employee engagement, compensation and benefits, performance management, organizational design, and acquisition integration.
Google names new managing director of cloud for UK and Ireland
Earlier this week, Google appointed former OpenText executive Helen Kelisky as the new managing director of its cloud business for the UK and Ireland.
With over 30 years of experience in tech sales leadership, Kelisky has held senior roles with OpenText, IBM and, more recently, at Salesforce.
Based in London, Kelisky will lead Google Cloud’s business across Ireland and Britain, with overall responsibility for the company’s sales strategy and operations in the region.
