Australia’s ecosystem for enabling and empowering unicorns just found another investor. LaunchVic’s 30X30 program equips business leaders with executive education and mentorship to scale their startups to a unicorn status by 2030.
The assistance is for businesses most impacted by Level 2 public health and social measures and includes a $66.8 million Small Business Hardship Grants Program, $2.8 million of payroll tax relief for large hospitality businesses, and $2.1 million for a COVID-19 Commercial Sporting Franchises Support Program.
Survey also highlighted that a record 44 Indian startups achieved unicorn status in 2021, taking the overall tally to 83 with a combined valuation of $277.77 billion
"For all its challenges, 2021 recorded the fastest growth in the Australian economy since 2007, making it the second fastest growth seen in the past two decades. Deloitte Access Economics sees 2022 as a similar story, with Australia’s growth remaining above average as pandemic damage to the economy continues to be repaired," the report states.
